Hydrosols are the by-product of Essential Oil extraction.  When the plant or flower matter is heated,  certain components are hydrophilic, which means they dissolve into water, and this produces what is variously known as a flower water, hydrosol or hydrolate.
What you are left with is fragrant water containing the essence of what was contained within the plant when it was still alive and growing.
These waters are suitable for use as Body Sprays, Air Fresheners, Deodorisers and even iroring aids or hair styling products.
